The TAUPE project is a Collaborative Research Project funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). It addresses the aeronautic sector and is constituted by 16 partners coming from 6 different European countries.
TAUPE acronym stands for: Transmission in Aircraft on Unique Path wirEs.
The project aims at simplifying the electrical architectures of the aircrafts and at reducing the length and the mass of the cables installed by introducing PLC (PowerLine Communication) or PoD (Power over Data) technologies inside the aircraft. Both technologies aim basically at supplying power and data on the same cable.
